Our story

The Hollywood Bowl Group have a passion for bringing families and friends together for affordable fun and healthy competition.

Following our listing on the main market in 2016 we became Hollywood Bowl Group, seeking out the perfect locations for our bowling centres nationwide. We formed our customer proposition, built on real feedback, and went from strength to strength with our in-centre game technology and online scoring systems.

Now with 60 bowling centres across the UK, and an exciting new mini golf brand added to the portfolio that has three current locations we’re proud to be ambitious market leaders in experiential family entertainment.

There’s never been a better time to join us!

Hollywood Bowl Group Commitment to sustainability

Sustainability is a subject that’s of incredible importance to everyone at Hollywood Bowl Group. Not only does our commitment exist as a set of guidelines to adhere to and use as the basic standard of environmental awareness, but you’ll see evidence in the way that we conduct our business on a daily, ongoing basis. It has a positive impact on our people, our customers, our business as a whole – and most importantly – the world around us.

We implement our sustainability strategy in key areas of the business and encourage our employees to uphold these standards. It’s an approach that’s visible in some places, and works behind the scenes in others – both of equal importance. These areas include:

Customer wellbeing and welfare

Bowling is an activity that promotes healthy competition and provides an inclusive, interactive experience for everyone. All of our centres have access for disabled customers and we enhance this fun-filled experience for people of all abilities with the use of concessionary discounts.

Our Hollywood Diner menu offers a selection of healthier eating options, including salads and children’s vegetable options, with the option of sugar-free and low-calorie drinks.

We’re dedicated to ensuring that our environment is truly family-friendly, and regularly liaise with key partners such as Namco to ensure that our amusement area offers relevant and suitable game content for all age groups.

Community and charity work

As a business operating in multiple locations around the UK, we believe in supporting the local communities - by offering employment, undertaking charity fundraising, and promoting awareness and access for all.

In 2019, we partnered with 61 charities and community projects benefitting families and young people local to each of our bowling centres and support hub. We make a charitable donation on behalf of our employees when completing their induction, serving to immediately engage and connect them to the local community in which they are working. Through these donations and fundraising efforts, £35,000 has been raised in the last year. Our chosen charity for the new year ahead is Barnardo’s.

Environmental initiatives

Hollywood Bowl Group is committed to conducting its operations in an ethical and responsible manner through environmental actions including greenhouse gas emission reduction, limiting of single-use plastics, solar roof panels, and implementation of energy saving procedures.

We recycle the majority of waste that we produce as part of our duty to reduce the environmental impact of our operations. In 2019, 67% of our waste was recycled, and we strive to improve this year on year, with an 85% target planned by the year 2025.
